Entertainment Center

We created a built-in custom bookcase and entertainment center for a 1800’s hand-hewn timber frame home, which was the final touch in the house’s total remodel. This bookshelf features 12 drawers that house the family’s extensive DVD collection as well as a drop-down top drawer that hides a computer and DVD player. Puck lights were installed above the screen, and can be turned on with a touch of a dimmer button, which also hides behind the top drawer. The screen mount can accommodate a larger screen should the family need to upgrade.

This project was a bit challenging since the house isn’t square. We also made a faux beam out of reclaimed hemlock from torn out framing in the house and tacked it on top of the existing beam because the homeowner said the out of level beam in comparison to the level cabinets would drive her nuts.
